A commitment, not a conformance claim

CHG is committed to making this website and our service accessible, and we describe below the standard we work toward and the practices already in place. This is a good-faith commitment statement — not a claim of full, formally-audited WCAG conformance or a certification we don’t hold. If anything here gets in your way, tell us and we’ll help directly.

01Our commitment

CHG wants everyone to be able to use chghomes.com and to arrange a comfortable stay, regardless of ability. We treat accessibility as part of doing this well, not an afterthought — and because we’re owner-operated, a real person can respond directly when someone needs help or runs into a barrier.

02The standard we aim for

We build and maintain this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as our reference point, working toward Level AA as a practical target. We treat accessibility as ongoing: as we add and update pages, we aim to keep them usable with a keyboard, readable for assistive technology, and legible at comfortable contrast.

03What we do on this website

Practices already built into the site include:

  • Semantic, structured markup so headings, lists, and landmarks are meaningful to screen readers.
  • Visible keyboard-focus indicators so the site can be navigated without a mouse.
  • Respect for the “reduced motion” system setting, which turns off non-essential animation.
  • A light and a dark theme, and color choices intended to keep text readable in both.
  • Content that remains available with JavaScript disabled, rather than hidden behind scripts.
  • Descriptive link text and image handling so the page makes sense when read aloud.

We test informally as we build and fix issues as we find them. Accessibility is a moving target, and we welcome reports that help us improve.

04Accessibility needs for a stay

If you have accessibility requirements for a stay — step-free access, an elevator, grab bars, a roll-in shower, or anything else — tell us before you book and we’ll give you an honest answer about what each home and its building can and can’t accommodate, rather than guessing. Our homes sit in professionally managed residential buildings, and building features such as elevators and entrances vary. [REVIEW: confirm the specific accessibility features that can be verified for each home/building before listing any as available, so nothing is promised that can’t be delivered. Keep descriptions at the home/area level per the site’s gates.]

05Known limitations

We don’t claim the site is perfect. Some content — for example, embedded third-party tools or media — may not yet meet our target in every respect, and we’re working to improve it over time. If you hit a barrier, the fastest path is to contact us directly and we’ll help you get what you need another way while we fix it.

06Feedback & contact

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or need information or assistance in an accessible format, email Hello@chghomes.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we’ll respond and help directly. Your feedback genuinely makes the site better.
